Thanks to TV programmes such as Strictly Come Dancing, dance clubs are becoming more and more popular.
Yatton Sequence Dance Club has more than 60 members, its oldest, an impressive 97 years old.
The club caters for anyone of any age who fancies getting fit while enjoying some moves on the dance floor, however the youngest members at the moment is 60 and the group is keen to attract more youngsters.
MCs announce what dance will be coming up next and then they take the lead on the dance floor as couples follow the pair round in a circle.
The dances are based on the standard ballroom and Latin dances including the waltz, quickstep, foxtrot and rumba and everyone dances the same 16 bar routine together.
Dave Tysall, chairman of the club, has been a member for 22 years. He said: The attraction is the exercise and the friendship. Ive met so many nice people.
We are young at heart. Anyone who wants to come along would be made to feel very welcome.
Sequence dancing is thought to have originated from the old court dances of France and England in the 1600s.
In the 1950s modern sequence dancing was formed, with an influence of ballroom dancing and Latin styles.
The Yatton club is an associate member of the Old Somerset Sequence Dance Association and travels to clubs in Taunton and Yeovil to dance.
Members do not enter competitions but enjoy keeping fit and socialising.
