Young-at-heart men and women in the town are working their way around the world as part of Weston Travel Club.
This year, its members have enjoyed trips both at home and abroad staying in locations including Newquay in Cornwall and farther afield in Europe.
The newly-formed club caters for over-50s and disabled travellers so elderly people can keep their sense of independence by meeting others interested in holidaying.
Organiser Jeff Alen said: Its important for older people to get out and about and remain active.
Our group helps people including widows and widowers to socialise as there are some who have come to the area without knowing anyone.
The trips are also educational as we plan an historical outing to Lindisfarne in Durham.
Jeff, of Palmer Street, who has lived in Weston for more than 40 years, said that membership has doubled in four months and is still rising. Members are kept up to date with regular newsletters.
Next years excursions include the Western Isles of Scotland and Galway on Irelands West coast.
Jeff said the most enjoyable trip he had been on was a Caribbean cruise which was a fantastic way to see the world.
