A tenpin bowling club in Weston is looking for more girls to join its successful team.
Weston Dolphins YBC has 48 members, including 12 girls, and in its successful history it has produced two world champions - Gemma Burden and Darren Cridge.
The club, sponsored by AJ Installations, has two fully qualified coaches who train the players, aged from five to 18, every Saturday morning.
The club plays in a mini-league made up of 12 teams with four members in each team. Every Saturday they play each other and each player, resplendent in their black uniforms, has a handicap so abilities match.
Adam Newman, Daniel Cook and Grant Kelly have the highest averages this season at 150 points per game. Hayley Clarke tops the girls leaderboard with 136 points per game.
The club is run by president Sue Lawrence, vice-president Charlie Small, treasurer Michelle Quick and club secretary Kerry Lawrence. They all wear orange T-shirts bearing the clubs logo and sponsors and the Dolphins club is registered with the British Tenpin Bowling Association.
Kerry said: It is a great chance for kids to get together, as well as the parents. Players come from different schools and are of different ages and they all get on really well with each other.
