The group, which wants to attract more members from all over the area, takes part in competitive galas and swim meets, but also knows how to have a good time socialising.
Membership secretary Sharon Allcott said: When children join they usually stay until they leave for university or college. The club is very friendly and members have a great time swimming and making new friends.
We have members from Cheddar, Axbridge, Shipham and Winscombe, but with big clubs in Weston and Wells we sometimes struggle to make the numbers.
The club, formerly known as Cheddar Swimming Club, takes part in two big sporting competitions, the Cotswold League and the Winter League. The club enters children from all ages into the four stroke categories: butterfly, backstroke, freestyle and breaststroke.
Each year the Cheddar Marlins has a club championship where members swim against each other to win medals.
The sixth annual championships will be held on November 25. Everyone who takes part also receives a memento of the occasion.
Shortly after, on December 6, the club holds a fun swim night. The young swimmers enjoy a few laps in the pool before tucking into a buffet and receiving certificates and trophies in an annual awards night.
Mrs Allcott added: Back by popular demand is our mums and dads swim, which is a fun race for the parents of our members. We didnt hold one last year and since then people have been asking when we are bringing it back.
We hold it on the same night as the presentations and lets just say, it is quite a spectacle.
