A Wraxall care home has received a ‘good’ rating after its latest inspection by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

Sycamore Lodge, in Lodge Lane, earned the score in four out of five assessment criteria on October 26.

It was told it ‘requires improvement’ in safety as inspectors found it was ‘not always safe’.

The care service is run by Shaw Healthcare and provides accommodation for people aged 65 and over who require nursing or personal care for dementia, mental health conditions and diseases.

In its report, the CQC said: “Positive feedback was received about the changes to the services and the registered manager’s leadership.

“We found some areas that still required improvement in relation to accurate guidance, record keeping and reporting.

“Systems are in place to monitor and review the quality of the service.”
