Clevedon and Portishead will appear on the nation’s television screens this month as ITV bosses have revealed when the third and final series of Broadchurch will air.

It was announced last night (Wednesday) that the first episode of the crime drama series will be broadcast on February 27 on ITV.

Producers have been tight-lipped about what will happen but David Tennant and Olivia Colman will reprise their police roles and investigate a sexual assault.

Old characters will return, but Sarah Parish, Lenny Henry and Julie Hesmondhalgh will join the cast.

The third series, as with the previous two, was partly filmed in North Somerset and Dorset, with most of the recordings taking place last summer.

Writer Chris Chibnall said: “This is the final chapter of Broadchurch.

“We have one last story to tell featuring familiar faces and new characters.

“I hope it’s a compelling and emotional farewell to a world and show that means so much to me.”
