Villagers showed off the fruits of their labour at their showpiece summer event at the weekend, with a wide range of top-quality exhibits on show.

Barrow Gurney Flower Show was held on Saturday, as green-fingered villagers hoped to win prizes for their prized plants and creations.

Proud villagers who posed with their exhibits included Gay Cook and her arrangement of pretty dahlias, and Jan Kershaw-Salmon with her stunning selection of flowers.

Jonathan Clayton entered an impressive pair of large portimarron squashes and Tim Nicholson’s juicy tomatoes certainly impressed.

And a jam-packed weekend of fun continued on Sunday with a large crowd turning out for a day of fun at the village barbecue.
