Yesterday (Tuesday) saw everyone celebrate Valentine’s Day, including youngsters in Portishead.

Goodwill feelings were clear at The Nursery where a number of love-themed activities were held.

Pink and red messy play, making hearts with card and beads, cooking heart-shaped biscuits and sending special Valentine’s messages home were just some of the activities children at The Nursery got involved in to mark the special occasion.

Nursery owner and childcare expert Jackie Hardie said it was a good day which the children hugely enjoyed.

She said: “Valentine’s Day provides a great opportunity to explore emotions and so this week the children have been talking about all the people they love and we have been looking at friendships.

“We also used the occasion as a great excuse to use lots of vibrant reds and pinks in our creative play.”
