Snow storms across Europe have put paid to holidaymakers’ getaway plans at Bristol Airport, with many of today’s (Thursdays) flights cancelled.

The airport is reporting ‘disruption to a number of flights’, with airline giants easyJet and Aer Lingus cancelling all their services from Bristol today.

Passengers have been advised to check with their airline prior to travelling to the airport.

An airport spokesman said: “Bristol Airport remains open this morning but snow across Europe and the UK has caused disruption to a number of flights.

“De-icing of aircraft and snow clearing is currently taking place. Additional staff are on site to assist with the adverse weather response

“It is a rapidly changing situation and passengers are advised to check with their airline prior to making their way to the airport, as some airlines have made cancellations to their flight programme for the remainder the day.”

UPDATE:

An airport spokesman told the Times at 3pm: “We thank passengers for their understanding as we appreciate how frustrating it is to have travel plans disrupted.

“As the weather is a dynamically changing situation it is too soon to speculate on the flight schedule for tomorrow morning.

“All passengers are advised if travelling either later today or tomorrow (Friday) to check with their airline prior to making their way to the airport.”
