The day on July 3 saw Avon and Somerset Constabulary, Avon Fire and Rescue and the Great Western Ambulance Service stage an accident and a crime to show how the services work together

As they arrived at the school in St Marys Road in the morning, youngsters discovered that some of their school equipment had gone missing.

They heard the culprits take off in a car before hearing a collision – rushing outside they saw that one of the offenders had become trapped in the vehicle while an accomplice made off on foot.

The youngsters then got to see a police dog in action as he caught the fleeing criminal, while the fire service cut off the roof of the car to free the trapped person, who was treated by paramedics using CPR.

They then got the chance to interview the suspects and take witness statements.
