More than £1,200 has been raised for charitable causes at a rotary club’s inaugural golf day.

Gordano Breakfast Rotary Club held the event at Bristol and Clifton Golf Club.

Dozens of members took part on the day and raised cash for their chosen charities.

Those to benefit include the Jessie May Trust, Nicola Corry Support Foundation and Wellspring Counselling.

Raj Sudhakaran, past president, said: “We were delighted to host our first ever golf day and raise funds for these well-deserving charities.

“The feedback has been very positive and we will look to hold another golf day next year.”

Last month, Mr Sudhakaran handed over the club’s presidency to Jim Packer for the coming year.

The club meets on the first and third Thursday of each month at the Brewers Fayre restaurant in Wyndham Way.
