A Backwell road will be partially closed at the end of the month due to water works.

A 900-metre stretch of Backwell Hill Road is set to close on Wednesday as Bristol Water needs to install a new main.

The closure will run southerly from 5 Backwell Hill Road down to Keepers Cottage.

North Somerset Council expects the roadworks to last for nine days.

A diversion route will be in place throughout the duration of the work to minimise disruption. Motorists will be asked to travel along the unaffected part of Backwell Hill Road, the A370, Brockley Combe Road, Downside Road and Hyatts Wood Road.
