ROAD CLOSED: Long delays following earlier accident

There are delays on North Somerset’s road network this afternoon (Tuesday) as one road has been closed for more than four hours following an accident – and is not expected to re-open until at least 6.30pm.

Clevedon Road, in Tickenham, was closed shortly before noon after a collision involving a car and a cyclist.

The Times understands the cyclist was taken to hospital but their injuries is not believed to be life-changing or life-threatening.

The road remains closed while the emergency services wait for the vehicle to be recovered and Western Power make power lines safe.

There are long delays and police are warning people to avoid the area.
