Two girls have been named as this year’s carnival princess and flower princess.

Portishead Carnival organisers held a disco on Friday night as it looked to find the key personnel for this summer’s showpiece.

Trinity Primary School pupils Boe Williams, aged 10, and eight-year-old Martha Baker were named carnival and flower princesses respectively.

Carnival princess attendants will be Mia Fudge and Mia Finch, while the flower princess runners-up were Daisy Howell and Lydia Alderton.

The carnival procession will snake its way through the streets of Portishead on June 17.
