A nature enthusiast keen to preserve important trees is being sought.
Portishead Town Council, when assessing planning applications, often seeks advice from a volunteer tree warden before making decisions.
The former post-holder has resigned and a replacement is now needed.
The role also includes gathering information about trees in the town and encouraging conservation ideas.
Sharon Sherborne, the council’s assistant clerk, said: “The volunteer can do as much or as little as they choose, from acting as the eyes and ears of the local neighbourhood to leading guided tree walks and giving talks to local groups.
“We would really appreciate anyone with knowledge of trees to share their expertise with us.”
Anyone interested in the role can email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 01275 847078.
