A North Somerset rotary club has donated more than £700 to St Peter’s Hospice’s ‘amazing’ new project.

Portishead Rotary Club presented the cheque for £750 to the charity to put towards its new building project.

Club president John Sleight said: “This project is amazing and can only help those patients who will receive such tender care and support.

“We are delighted to help in their fundraising efforts and we wish them every success.”

The money was raised by the Avon and Somerset Constabulary Male Voice Choir concert which was held last month in the Methodist Church Hall, in High Street.

The Brentry-based hospice launched its Room To Care appeal in October and aims to raise £1.5million to help rebuild its unit for terminally ill patients.
