A break-in has forced Portishead Open Air Pool to close today (Thursday).

Someone forced entry to the lido’s café, in Esplanade Road, overnight with management taking the decision to close earlier today.

A post on the pool’s Facebook page says: “Due to unforeseen circumstances we are closed until further notice.”

Avon and Somerset police are investigating the incident.

A spokesman said: “We are investigating a report of a burglary at the café which occurred overnight.

“Entry was forced but it doesn’t appear anything was taken.

“We will be reviewing CCTV footage.

“Enquiries are ongoing.”
