New volunteers needed for Portishead girlguides

Volunteers are wanted to help organise guide units in Portishead.
The town’s rainbow, brownie and guide groups are in high demand which means there is extra pressure to find people to help put on activities.
Krystina Hartry, who runs a brownie unit in the town, said: “The area as a whole is crying out for more help.
“A large unit has recently had to close as the leaders retired and there was no one to take it over.
“There are lots of units in Portishead throughout the week and almost all of them could do with extra help.”
An open day will also be held next week for people to find out more about volunteering with the guides.
It will be held at Portishead Guide Hall in Church Road North from 10am-2pm on August 18.
Guides units run exciting events designed to inspire girls aged 10-14.
Anyone who would like to volunteer can email Portishead district commissioner Karen Rees on firstname.lastname@example.org
