Police are appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision in North Somerset today (Saturday, August 11).

Officers say a car was involved in a collision with a male pedestrian on the A369 in Abbots Leigh. A man, believed to be in his 20s, was treated at the scene and then taken to Southmead Hospital but died shortly afterwards.

The A369 was closed for around six hours to allow collision investigators to examine the scene.

Avon and Somerset Constabulary is keen to hear from anyone who may have used the A369 this morning around the time of the collision, who may have information to help our enquiry.

Anyone who thinks they may have information which could help officers with their investigations is asked ring 101 quoting reference number 5218179695.
