Three times table champions got to take to the sky as a reward.

Year seven students from St Katherine’s School, in Ham Green in Pill, enjoyed a thrilling helicopter flight after coming out as champions in a regional competition.

Kanye Christie, Ahmed Mahamud and Ryan Bundy took part in the Rock Wrangle event where they all placed in the top bracket.

The trio won an exclusive helicopter flight over Bristol as reward for their hard work, including a special flypast St Katherine’s so staff and students could wave to them.

Headteacher Justin Humphreys said: “We are thrilled Kanya, Ahmed and Ryan’s hard work has reaped such a fantastic reward.

“Times tables are the building blocks for developing numeracy and we have been encouraging all year seven students to develop skills to help them enjoy greater success in this essential subject.”
