Children raced against their parents in a family fun run at Nailsea and Backwell Rugby Club.

The 5K event was put on by Nailsea Methodist Church as part of its Alight programme, aimed at bringing the community together and enabling people to find out more about Christianity.

About 30 people turned up to the fun day on Saturday which also included treasure trails, a quiz, a barbecue and games for children.

The church thanked the club for letting it use the field for free, Grove Junior School for the use of its sports equipment and Bakers of Nailsea for the discounted barbecue food.

The next Alight event is a performance from Riding Lights at 7.30pm on June 18 in the Methodist Church.
