An actor has been handed an award for his performance in a Clevedon show.

Bob Beale from Tickenham Drama Group has been chosen to receive the Barbara Graham Best Performance trophy for his role as Bardolph in the Clevedon Players’ production of Entertaining Angels.

The play, by Richard Everett, followed the tale of clergy wide Grace who, after a lifetime of being on her best behaviour, decides to enjoy her new-found freedom.

The trophy was presented to Bob by Mike Graham who donated the trophy in 2016 in memory of his late wife Barbara who was an active amateur dramatist for more than 25 years and was a patron of the players.

Mike and Bob were joined by 2016’s winner Roger Hockey for his role as Henry in the players’ production of Last Tango In Whitby by Mike Harding.

The trophy is presented yearly for the best performance of the season in amateur theatre in the area.
