Penny Brohn UK hosted its six-mile Stomp event which saw people don purple tops and raise money for the charity.

A total of 457 walkers went the distrance from Anchor Square, in Bristol, to the charity’s headquarters in Chapel Pill Road on Saturday and more than £34,500 has been raised so far.

A charity spokesman said: “We are blown away by all the support and are so proud of every walker and volunteer who got involved.

“Thank you all. The sun even made an appearance.”

People walked in memory and support of their loved ones and survivors also took on the challenge to thank the charity for its support.

The walkers were greeted back at the base with a farmers’ market, refreshments and live entertainment.
