A former social worker who spent three decades supporting children and families in North Somerset is in contention for a trio of national awards.
Recently-retired Jenny Slee has been praised for her 30 years of service with North Somerset Council, being nominated for three prizes at the Social Worker Awards.
Jenny is in line for the lifetime achievement, team leader and social work values prizes, with the ceremony later this month.
She also made the shortlist for the lifetime achievement award at October’s Adoption Week Awards ceremony.
Jenny is ‘honoured and delighted’ to be recognised.
She said: “I’ve had the great fortune to work with colleagues who have acted professionally and tirelessly with the sole aim of making a positive difference.”
Jan Barber, the council’s executive member for children’s services, said: “This is an outstanding achievement and something to be very proud of.”
