North Somerset Bird of Prey Centre (NSOBPC), in Congresbury, opened its gates to guests for the last time this year on Sunday for a well-attended showcase of its animals.

The adorable baby meerkats stole the hearts of wide-eyed children at the open day, with bird of prey flying shows also proving popular.

An NSBOPC spokesman said: “We had a brilliant final open day at our visitors centre on Sunday.

“We would like to thank everyone who has supported our open days this year with a special thanks to staff and volunteers for their constant hard work.

“Our visitors centre will be back open from the spring but we will still be running all of our experience days over the autumn and winter months including hunting trips, falconry days, hawk walks and owl experiences.”
