Councillors have deferred a decision on whether to allow planning permission for a luxury caravan site.

The Barton Homes Group wants to build 14 caravans in Coast Road.

But there have been objections to the scheme, as Walton-in-Gordano Parish Council said a large mass of materials had been dumped on the land, meaning the homes would be higher up and intrusive.

A neighbour was also worried a hedge dividing the land might be lost.

The council’s planning committee chose to defer the decision for another month so councillors could visit the park. The Barton Homes Group said some of the soil had been removed.

Councillor Felicity Baker, speaking at the planning meeting on March 14, said: “To aid members, we need a site inspection so we can see what its neighbours are up against.”

The Barton Homes Group says the site, called, Seascapes Park, would offer high-quality homes with stunning views.
