A Nailsea woman has shaved her head in a bid to raise enough money to pay for a Macmillan nurse for a week.

Sally Norwood, aged 59, is sporting the chilly new style to support the cancer charity.

Sally decided to take part in the Brave the Shave campaign for Macmillan Cancer Support in memory of her friend.

She said: “Unfortunately I lost my best friend to cancer when she was just 46 and, even though it was over 13 years ago, I still miss her every day.

“We have also lost many other friends and family to the disease over the past few years and I wanted to fight back in some way.

“In the past I have jogged distances to raise money but these days my knees can’t quite take it.

“Facing hair loss as part of treatment is really awful so I am hoping to use baldness for something a lot more positive.”
