Members of Nailsea Tennis Club enjoyed a trip down memory lane to celebrate its 50th anniversary.

Around 70 people turned up to the birthday bash to share old stories – some dating back to 1968 when the club was formed.

Past and present members were invited and the club also put on a large display of photos.

Committee member Gordon Hayton recalled how Nailsea’s Wyatt family generously provided the three tennis courts and other sporting facilities on the site which have been an enormous benefit to the town.

The club, which is based in Mizzymead Recreation Centre, has put on a number of events this year to mark its landmark birthday.

Chairman Mel Thomas confirmed the club is planning to introduce more senior and junior members.
