A running club from Nailsea is helping to fund vital conservation work at Tyntesfield by donating £1,000.

Nailsea Running Club has been holding events at the National Trust estate in Wraxall for a number of years including its annual 10km event and its fortnightly Feel Good Friday Run.

A record number of people attended both events this year with more than 400 runners taking part in the Tyntesfield 10. Proceeds from the 10km event are shared between Nailsea Running Club and Tyntesfield.

Chairman Alison Wright said: “It’s great to be able to support the conservation work that goes into caring for this beautiful place.

“The woodland and parkland of the wider estate are such great places to run whatever the weather and time of year.”

The money will help train National Trust volunteers to be run leaders, so more sporting events can be held.
