Pupils at a Clevedon primary school are celebrating after winning an art competition.

Mary Elton Primary School students took part in the contest to decorate five Tanzanian-themed animals in the style of Tinga Tinga – a children’s TV show.

Evy and Hannah in year six, Charlotte in year five, Esme in year four and Dyllan in year three will have their winning entries posted across the school from September.

Their entries represent learning values which the school sees as important to lifelong learning.

Headteacher Dean Hudd said: “Well done to everyone who entered and a big thank you to That Copy Shop for judging the entries.”

The pupils from the Clevedon Learning Trust school were each presented with a framed picture of the original and digitised images to proudly hang on their walls.

The drawings included a lion, meerkat, monkey and an owl.
