The trust behind the running of Clevedon Pier has been handed hundreds of pounds to develop its programme.

The Clevedon Pier and Heritage Trust received more than £800 from Magnox, which is linked with Hinkley Point C, to progress with its new learning and outreach scheme.

The resources purchased with the money will engage visiting schools and youth groups to discover the moving geography of the Severn Estuary and the Bristol Channel.

The resources will
also be used to deliver outreach within the community.

Heritage and outreach officer for the pier, Abbie Edbrooke said: “We are thrilled to have received generous sponsorship of our stunning new giant nautical charts.

“In trials of the resource on location, we have already been inundated with people eager to discover the fascinating, ever-changing geography of the unique Severn Estuary.”
