Delicious cakes and hot drinks helped a Nailsea fundraiser to collect hundreds of pounds for charity.

Sara Card put on a Macmillan coffee morning and raised more than £1,500 for the cause – beating her total of £1,350 last year.

Sara had baked a number of delicious treats including chocolate cakes, cup cakes and an Eton mess tray bake.

She said: “I am overwhelmed I beat last year’s amount. I cannot thank my friends, family and local business enough for all their support.

“I had around 80 guests throughout the day and I also had lots of neighbours I had not met before. I was also so pleased to welcome the Macmillan fundraising manager for Bath and North Somerset who visited on the back of my success last year.”

Budgens, Coates House, Wetherspoons, The Little Beauty Loft, Beauty at 22, At The Gym, Burchills and Benedicts of Bristol donated to the event.
