A daughter has shaved her head to raise money for her ‘hero’ dad who is battling cancer.

Joanne Vick, from Nailsea, took part in Macmillan’s Brave The Shave appeal in honour of her dad John Wright who was diagnosed with cancer in November last year and given just nine months to live.

Joanne said: “Dad spoke to his consultant and after two rounds of chemotherapy decided enough was enough and that it was about quality of life rather than quantity.

“Our dad is our hero and amazes us in how he deals with it. Dad is going to fight it every step of the way and has a very positive attitude to life.

“We are so proud of dad and how strong he is. Dad is a fighter and will always be.”

Joanne, from Long Ashton, would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who sponsored her.

Joanne has raised £1,364 so far, but people can still sponsor her at https://bravetheshave.macmillan.org.uk/shavers/joanne-vick
