Walton Castle’s owner Margarita Hamilton welcomed people to her 15th century home, in Castle Road, on Saturday.

Guests were able to take a look around the rebuild structure which has undergone major refurbishment since Margarita returned to the castle in May last year.

The public were also treated to a performance from Britain’s Got Talent finalists The Rat Pack and were able to sit down in the grounds and enjoy a hog roast lunch and picnic.

This it the first event of many which Mrs Hamilton hopes to host.

She aims to make Walton Castle ‘part of the community’ with more possible events including a food festival and an open air theatre.
