More than 300 homes in North Somerset have been left without power this morning (Wednesday) after Storm Aileen battered the South West with winds up to 60 miles per hour.

There are 189 homes without electricity near Bristol Airport in the BS48 3 postcode area, and 60 homes which have lost power near Claverham and Cleeve in the BS49 4 area.

A further 29 homes in Tickenham and 34 in and around Failand are also without electricity, according to Western Power Distribution.

Western Power is predicting power will be restored between noon and 1pm today.
