What royal wedding events and street parties will be held in North Somerset this weekend?

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are tying the knot on Saturday, and some events are being held in North Somerset to celebrate. Here is our guide to some of the royal wedding events and street parties being held in Portishead, Clevedon and the surrounding villages.

A royal tea party will be held.A royal tea party will be held.

• A celebration will be held in Yatton, weather permitting, at the green, off Church Road, on Saturday.

People are asked to wear red white and blue and take food and drink along for a community picnic at 1.15pm.

• Penny Brohn UK will provide entertainment and a royal tea at its base in Chapel Pill Lane, Pill.

It will run from 2-5pm on Saturday, and tickets, priced £35-120, are available from www.pennybrohn.org/event/royal-tea

• Street parties are also planned in parts of North Somerset on Saturday.

Road closures are expected in Sally Hill in Portishead, Coleridge Vale Road South in Clevedon and Debeccas Lane in Easton-in-Gordano.

• A bring-and-share lunch will be held in Walton-in-Gordano on Sunday. It will be hosted by St Paul’s Church, in Walton Street, at 12.30pm.
