Primary school pupils in Portishead have raised more than £1,000 for the RNLI.
Year three children at St Peter’s Primary School took part in a sponsored fun run in support of RNLI Portishead.
The school has also been supporting the charity through its Learning Legacy work and the money raised will be used by the RNLI to buy new equipment.
A school spokesman said: “Our grand total raised was £1,090.90, which was fabulous.
“The pupils are very proud and grateful to all who sponsored them.
“They tripled their target of trying to raise £300 so we are very proud of them.”
RNLI members attended an assembly last week to hand over the cheque.
During the visit pupils were able to see the helmet and lifejacket the RNLI will buy with the donation.
