A NEW headteacher will step into the top role at a Pill secondary school from September.
Chris Sammons will be appointed as the new head of St Katherine’s School following the departure of Stephanie Quayle.
Ms Quayle has had seven successful years at the Ham Green school but will be leaving at the end of this academic year.
Her husband has been appointed as head of Al Khor International School in Qatar, where they will have the chance to run a school with 3,700 young people aged from four to 19.
Her replacement, Mr Sammons, is currently working as a deputy headteacher at Kineton High School in Banbury, Oxfordshire.
The 40-year-old father-of-three has been a teacher for 20 years.
He said: “Not only is it important to me that the students continue to achieve excellent results, but that they continue to be taught the values and social skills that will sustain them for the rest of their lives.
“Having met governors, staff and students at St Katherine’s, I am looking forward to working with the whole school community from September.”
