A group of North Somerset Enterprise and Technology College (NSETC) students are looking to raise money for their Formula One (F1) In Schools challenge fees.

The Phoenix racing team of engineering students James Ogborne, Matt Underhill and Oscar Tarry, all aged 14, plan to build their own miniature F1 drag race car and compete against other schools in the South West.

The students must follow the same processes used by real F1 teams, which include creating their initial business plan, designing, making and racing their car.

The NSETC team will credit their sponsors in all future races by displaying sponsorship names on the side of their car.

Team member James Ogbourne said: “This is an amazing opportunity for us to improve our engineering skills and learn about the processes real F1 teams use.”

Potential sponsors can email teamphoenixracing3@gmail.com for more information.
