Generous children filled their bags with pasta, baked beans and biscuits to donate to their school’s harvest festival collection.

Golden Valley Primary School, in Nailsea, held a harvest celebration assembly to mark the occasion.

Pupils were asked to take in tins, packets and jars of food to support Clevedon District Foodbank.

During the assembly they learnt about the charity and the work they do to help people in need in North Somerset.

Pupils were also taught about the significance of celebrating the harvest.

Staff at the school thanked the pupils and their families for all the generous donations.

Clevedon District Foodbank has provided food parcels to people in crisis for more than five years.

Food parcels, which contain food supplies for three days, are given to people living in Clevedon, Portishead, Nailsea, and the surrounding villages.
