Young cooks have been showing off their talents in the kitchen in recent days.

Pupils in years four, five and six have been taking part in cookery lessons at Court de Wyck Primary School.

The Claverham school is gearing up for its harvest celebrations and so the lessons could not have been better timed.

A Court de Wyck spokesman said the classes had been enjoyable for all the children.

They added: “Years four, five and six have been learning how to make bread rolls as part of a free workshop run by school caterers Chartwells.

“They learnt about what bread is made from and the different steps they have to go through to make their rolls.

“They also learnt how to make different types of rolls including plaiting and making rolls in the shape of hedgehogs.

“It was perfect timing as we will be celebrating harvest festival in school next week.
