Clevedon students immersed themselves in culture on a four-day trip to the Netherlands.

Pupils from Clevedon School, in Valley Road, paid a visit to Amsterdam where they explored Anne Frank’s House, the Van Gogh Museum and enjoyed a trip down the city’s famous canals on a boat trip around the historic quarter.

Their travels continued when they visited a classic Netherlands windmill, cheese and clog-making farm – all of which are commonly linked with the country.

Head of English, Jo Carrington, said: “The students learned so much, especially about the hiding of Anne Frank and then the architecture of the buildings in Holland including the different types of gable on the ornate houses.”

One student described it as a ‘trip to always remember’ as they hoped to visit again some day.

The Netherlands capital is famed for its artistic heritage, beautiful buildings and elaborate canal system.
