The organisers of Eat: Portishead say they have been ‘blown away’ by the success of their first Portishead festival.
More than 15,000 food-lovers braved a mixed weather forecast to pack the marina on Saturday and sample delights from more than 80 stalls selling everything from bread, cheese and meat to cakes, chocolate and ice cream.
There were also Punch & Judy shows, singers and a balloon modeller to keep visitors entertained.
Co-organiser Bev Milner Simonds said: “We are thrilled with how Eat: Portishead went on Saturday.
“We had such positivity beforehand but the numbers of people and the great feedback on the day has blown us away.
“Our producers brought more stock than ever before and we still had many selling out and reports of record sales.”
There are already plans for the festival to return on August 10, 2019.
