Two dental practices in Portishead have been given a clean bill of health by industry experts.

The Care Quality Commission (CQC) watchdog is responsible for checking standards of hospitals, GP practices and dentist surgeries are up to scratch.

Its inspection team visited Evolve Dentistry and Dentale Bristol in April and June respectively, and has just published reports into the practices.

Both were found to be compliant in all five key areas, including care, safety and management.

Private practice Evolve Dentisty, in Harbour Road, was praised for its ‘state-of-the-art’ facilities.

The CQC’s report says: “Feedback from patients was positive about the care they received from the practice.

“They commented staff put them at ease, listened to their concerns and provided an excellent service in which they had confidence in the dental care provided.”

The CQC inspectors’ report into Dentale Bristol, which is based in Bristol Road, was similarly positive.

They said: “Staff had received training appropriate to their roles and were supported in their continuing professional development by the provider.

“Patients and relatives we spoke with gave a positive picture of a caring, professional and high quality service.

“All the staff we met told us they were happy and the practice was a good place to work.”
