This month 14 fathers, one mother and one grandfather will get strapped up to tackle the 60m cliff face as they close in on their fundraising target.

A total of £19,000 has been raised in recent years towards helping level the school’s famous sloping playing field.

Last year 10 parents raised £8,400 in a sponsored skydive and various other regular events, including car boot sales and cakes sales have helped them towards their target of around £28,000.

The sponsored abseil, which starts at 1.30pm on Saturday, will be followed by a whole school picnic on Clifton Downs.
