Revised proposals for a new village hall which Congresbury ‘desperately needs’ will go under the microscope at public consultations in the coming weeks.

Congresbury New Village Hall Development Trust will host four consultations, offering villagers the chance to engage with the project’s leaders.

The sessions will be held at the recreation club, in Stonewell Drive, on Tuesday from 7.30-9.30pm, and on September 30, October 7 and October 11 from 9am to noon.

Scaled-back plans for the centre were revealed by the trust last month to reduce costs and to please neighbours of the King George V Playing Fields who raised concerns over the proposed height of the hall.

Trust spokesman Ian Sheppard said: “We have to be realistic and while the footprint will be reduced, the new building will still meet the project’s vision of providing the village with the multi-use facilities it desperately needs.”
