Clevedon Community Hospital has been given an improvement.

The outpatients building has been given a lick of paint by local men Brian Reed, Chris Dash and Roger Stevens.

The Clevedon Hospital League of Friends have also donated new chairs to the waiting area and clinic rooms.

Matt Croughan, clinical and operational lead for the outpatients department, said: “It is wonderful to have had this work completed, it provides a really warm and welcoming environment for our patients.

“We followed national guidelines for making it a dementia-friendly environment and the result is fabulous.

“Without the flexibility of Brian, Chris and Roger we would not have been able to do this without impacting on clinical services and thanks to them not a single appointment was cancelled throughout.

“Also, yet again the wonderful league of friends has supported us with the purchase of 33 new chairs to make it a more comfortable and practical space for our patients to wait in.

“The patients present when the new chairs were delivered certainly gave their seal of approval.”

Friends chairman Di Brown added: “The League of Friends is delighted to support the recent works in the outpatients department by supplying the new chairs for the waiting rooms and the clinic rooms.

“With the smartly painted department and the new chairs it is hoped that patients will find it a calmer and more relaxed place to wait for their appointment.”
