Clevedon Lions Club has launched its latest Dream Scheme, offering thousands of pounds to help community projects.

The initiative, now in its third year, has so far given almost £10,000 to 20 groups using money raised from the Christmas float.

Clevedon Lions president Paul Pollock said: “Once again, we want to see this Christmas money stay in Clevedon and support the numerous volunteers in our own town who give up their time for free – just as the Lions do – but who need some extra cash to enable them to complete an important club project that will improve the organisation and the lives of their members.”

Previous winners have included sports teams, youth clubs and health campaigns.

Applications will be assessed in early February with winners announced later in the month.

Application forms will be available on January 1 from clevedonlions@gmail.com
