A Clevedon dog owner is delighted after her pet won a pair of prestigious prizes at last week’s Crufts competition.

Devon the German Pinscher walked away in first place in both the Post Graduate and The Kennel Club’s Good Citizen Dog classes in his breed.

Devon’s sister also enjoyed success at the Birmingham event, winning Best Bitch and Reserve Best of Breed.

Owner Samantha Baker, who also runs Mucky Pups Professional Dog Grooming in Clevedon, said: “We were so proud of both of them as we owned their father, the breed record holder and top winning German Pinscher of all time.

“He sadly passed away at the end of 2016 aged 13.”

It’s not the first time Devon has come out on top at the world’s biggest dog show.

In 2017 he won the same two prizes aged just 20 months.

Devon is also the first and only German Pinscher to be used as a Pets As Therapy dog in the UK.
