A Clevedon church has held a harvest service with a difference in support of a baby charity.
St Andrew’s Church, in Old Church Road, asked the congregation to take along gifts for babies to its harvest celebration on October 15, rather than the traditional food items.
A spokesman for the church said: “This year we chose a different way of celebrating harvest, supporting a charity first seen on Songs Of Praise called Baby Basics.
“This charity supports vulnerable new mothers providing Moses baskets and toiletries.
“The harvest gifts given by the congregation demonstrate God’s love to the community.”
Sheffield-based Baby Basics has been running since 2009 and has a growing list of centres across the UK, helping more than 4,000 people.
